Against that backdrop, we are seeking a talented executive to join CenterWell, our wholly-owned healthcare services subsidiary, in the newly-created role of National President, MSO Operations. The growth and expansion of our MSO product/service offering is a strategic priority for Humana. The National President will lead the service delivery function of CenterWell's affiliate provider network, ensuring consistent, predictable, and successful execution across all practice segments. This leader will bring national scale to our products and services, leading with technology, be metrics-driven, and outcomes-oriented. He/she will employ a rigorous and curious approach to rapidly iterating our service delivery models while empathizing with our affiliate partners.

The National President will be responsible for building, developing, and leading the team that oversees all aspects of practice service delivery. They will ensure a healthy dyad relationship with local Clinical Engagement teams. This leader will partner closely with the Market President of MSO growth, local clinic, and Health Plan leadership to execute value-based care strategy and achieve outcomes.

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Population Health Analytics and Utilization Management. Our strong preference is for the position to be based in Louisville, KY or anywhere in the states of Florida or Texas. Other locations may be considered for exceptional candidates, but only on a case-by-case basis. Travel requirement of as much as 50% should be expected during the first year, dropping to around 30% thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage operational engagement teams to drive outcomes to achieving all revenue and quality performance targets.

  • Drive cross-functional focus on a consistent service experience with the MSO model across the engagement lifecycle, from first communication with the practice.

  • Inform development of service delivery models for the full range of practice segments. Streamline service delivery processes and playbooks across the national network that will drive increased efficiency and revenue.

  • Lead the development of technology tools and solutions to better manage the day-to-day priorities of customers, with the end goal of a clearly coordinated and communicated set of value-based care priorities customized to each practice.

  • Partner with Growth leadership to support continued national scaling of the affiliate network with a strong service offering to all customer segments.

  • Develop customer-focused, long-term strategy for practice retention.

  • Build strong partnerships with leaders in Product and Technology, representing field teams and practices in the strategic development of scalable technology tools to support the service delivery model.

  • Establish a formal learning system and feedback mechanism to ensure clear, bidirectional communication to and from the field driving replicable and high value service to customers.

  • Complete the buildout of a multi-level organization capable of supporting the growth and expansion of MSO service delivery model.

Key Candidate Qualifications

In general terms, the ideal candidate will have extensive healthcare experience (typically 10+ years), including several years (ideally 7+ years) in population health management. This person will possess a combination of operational experience and expertise in health care strategy, business development, and health care finance. He/she will have a proven record of success in achieving scalable outcomes with a focus on use of technological tools to scale. Finally, this person will be a strong leader of people with proven success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of a multi-level team.

In addition to the above, the following professional credentials and personal attributes are also sought:

  • Experience leading a network of locations, owned or otherwise.

  • Strong vision and belief in tech-enablement of the company's products to enable consistent results at scale and reduced operating costs.

  • Demonstrated ability in building strategic relationships with internal and external parties, including cross-functional partners, corporate and market functions, vendors, and providers.

  • Strong foundation in value-based care principles and proven leadership in the healthcare industry.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability to think strategically and implement tactically to consistently deliver results, well-developed skills in diplomacy and collaboration.

  • Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources to inform action plans and strategy.

  • Deep empathy for independent primary care practices with a passion for their long-term success in value-based care.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences, both internally and externally.

  • Highly collaborative mindset and the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome, particularly in scenarios that call for 'tough conversations' to be conducted.

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field of study.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$199,400 - $298,300 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
