The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
A candidate for the Business Intelligence Engineer 2 will have an interest in:
Machine learning, other artificial intelligence
Utilizing innovative technologies to solve business problems
Leveraging healthcare data to create a differentiated member experience
Using data to drive business outcomes and decisions
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Technology software experience with Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Tableau/Qlikview, Reporting tools
Experience developing business intelligence reports and applications
Proven ability interpreting and leveraging data in effective decision making
Proven ability to work collaboratively across Humana teams
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage all tactical aspects of an initiative
Experience managing medium to large scale projects/initiatives
Demonstrated analytical skills
STARS, Healthcare and/or CMS knowledge
Ability to understand complex systems
Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques
Excellent communication skills due to high exposure across Humana and external networks
Strong organizational skills
